who's in your boat?
I got this insight a few months ago and I'll like to share it. Not just as an encouragement to me but to others.
How can JESUS CHRIST be in your boat and you're scared? I read this scripture; Mark 4:35-41 and I got some kind of rhema.
Jesus Calms the Storm
35That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." 36Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
39He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
41They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
(via New International Version)
The boat represents me or you while the force shaking the boat (wind and wave) refers to the storms of life. But if JESUS says and when HE says "Quiet! Be still!", it ceases. We as Christians have an advantage...the winds and wave obeyed HIM...can you imagine? That just means that even if you are a Christian and you have JESUS in your boat, you'll still have trials, temptations, the normal life issues and complications but when JESUS says "Peace! Be still!"... it sure is over, because HE means it!
In verse 40, I love what HE said..HE just didn't want to brag by saying: you,I dey here na, na me get the power...of course, na IM get the power, but HE was humble and is still, JESUS...my perfect gentleman! And by verse 41, those in the boat, the unbelieving folks were shocked that after all of the believers trials and temptation. confusions etc, SUDDENLY it became over...now we know we've got hope of a peaceful life...thank YOU JESUS!
